About Boy Blu

Boy Blu is a transatlantic duo, formed around 2020, built on a partnership between two sides of the Atlantic: American singer-songwriter Lisa Blu and Irish singer-songwriter Seán O'Connor. Based between the United States and Ireland, they blend rock, blues, soul, and pop into a sound that is unmistakably their own.

Lisa Blu

The duo's lead singer, Lisa Blu is a multi-instrumentalist: a drummer, guitarist, and keyboardist as well as a songwriter. Her powerful, soulful voice carries the heart of Boy Blu's music, and her songwriting shapes much of the duo's material.

Seán O'Connor

An Irish singer-songwriter, guitarist, bassist, and producer, Seán brings decades of stage experience to Boy Blu. He is known for his work with The Lookalikes and has performed alongside names including Thin Lizzy, Roger Daltrey, Les Paul, and the Blues Brothers. In Boy Blu he sings, plays, and produces, shaping the duo's recorded sound.

The Music and Success

Their breakthrough album, The Transatlantic Chronicles (2023), collects seven original songs written by the pair, including Bad Moon Rising (Extended), Take Me Away, It's Time, Another Bottle, I'm Ready, All the Things, and Misty Blu (Sundown). It was followed by Blu Frequency - The Infinity Album, singles such as Dog Day Afternoon (Space Boogie) and Apple Moon, and collaborations with other artists. Their songs have charted on Delaware radio, with tracks like Baby Don't Leave and Cry No More earning Top 5 spots on the local charts.

From two home studios across an ocean, Lisa and Seán continue to write, record, and release music together, proving that real partnership knows no distance.

Last Sunday: Seán's Birthday Live

Last Sunday, October 4th, Seán's Birthday Extravaganza filled the Tune and Fork Inn in Milford, Delaware, with an afternoon of live music. Doors opened at 3:00 PM and the celebration ran all evening.
